Rockland is most notably known for the Maine Lobster Festival. The Maine Lobster Festival is five days of family fun that starts the first weekend of August. For more than 70 years, The Maine Lobster Festival has been attracting people to Rockland from all over the world. You will find delicious local lobster dinners, carnival rides, nationally renowned entertainers, Maine craftsmen and artists, cooking contests, and so much more. All the proceeds from the festival go back into the local community, supporting everyone from local emergency services, high school sports teams, food pantries, college scholarship funds, and more.
For half a century, Rockland has been home to the annual Friendship Sloop Days. Friendship Sloop Days celebrate the heritage of Friendship Sloops and there is breakfast and Skippers' meeting each morning, you can visit the Sloops docked at the public landing, and at night people are encouraged to attend a bring-your-own community barbecue under the stars.
The Maine Boats, Homes, and Harbor Show celebrates the land and sea in Rockland. This event is all about the coastal lifestyle. It is the only in-water boat show in Maine. Enjoy more than 70 boats in the water and 150 exhibitors on the shore. Over the course of three days, visitors can enjoy live entertainment, hands-on demos, great food, and more.
Every July Rockland hosts the North Atlantic Blues Festival. Enjoy live music from 11am to 7pm for two days. Thousands of blues fans flock to Rockland to see some of the world's best blues artists. On Saturday night join in the Club Crawl; the streets closed to traffic and bands play all along the street as well as in local bars.

Located on Main Street in Rockland, In Good Company offers a compelling wine selection, a full bar, and a rotating menu that has light tapas as well as full entrees. In Good Company utilizes locally produced meats, seafood, and produce in all of their meals.
Claws, a walk-up window on Main Street in Rockland is a local favorite for delicious, straight-from-the-ocean seafood in a no-frills atmosphere. Rockland Maine Schools
Students in Rockland attend RSU 13 with students from neighboring South Thomaston, Thomaston, Owl's Head, Cushing, and St. George. Students in Kindergarten - Fifth Grade attend South School in Rockland. Students in grades 6-8 attend the newly constructed Oceanside Middle School which is located in the former Oceanside High School West building in Thomaston. High school students attend Oceanside High School.
Pen Bay Christian School is also in Rockland. This private Christian school serves children from preschool through elementary age. PBCS's 11-acre campus is shared with Littlefield Memorial Baptist Church. The campus overlooks Penobscot Bay and includes a sports field and a large playground.
